Provide high level support, resource development and professional learning for all staff of Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) from Head Office management through to classroom teachers. Chief digital and new technology advisor and Copyright advisor within ResourceLink, servicing over 70,000 customers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver consultation and professional development to school and office staff on a wide range of learning areas including:
• Information management strategies including effective access to the library catalogue and databases and content curation.
• Copyright, Creative Commons and Open Education materials
• Contemporary resourcing of the Australian curriculum including the integration of digital technologies
• Digital resource development

• Provide high level research and referencing support to all staff of the Brisbane Catholic Education Head Office. This includes managing online databases provided through Ebscohost, conducting reference interviews and research including accessing information via interlibrary loan services.

• Collection development of the professional and curriculum collection, (approximately 40 000 items) including selection, sourcing, purchasing and cataloguing resources to support all areas of the P-12 curriculum as well as the professional collection relating to educational research, theology, academic leadership and school management texts.

• Collaborate with a range of external consultants and internal stakeholders to create quality multimedia and digital resources to support both the curriculum and professional development of staff

• Management of the ResourceLink intranet portal including the creation of resources and the further development of a web presence for ResourceLink both within BCE and externally, via the ResourceLink WordPress blog.

• Leadership of the Teacher Librarian Steering Committee as Executive Chair, planning and implementing up to 8 professional learning events each year, including the a major Teacher Librarian conference hosted at the State Library of Queensland.


Connected Learning Professional Development – working with Dr Hilary Hughes, designed an online resource to support a professional learning opportunity for 15 senior Brisbane Catholic Education office staff to develop an understanding of the Connected Learning pedagogy. Successfully applied for a grant from Student First Funding to investigate the development of a Connected Learning environment based around contemporary resourcing for approximately 15 teachers.

ResourceLink Blog – Design and creation of a WordPress blog which is the department’s main online presence. Management and authorship of the majority of posts to the blog, as well as designing and uploading associated web pages to provide access to a range of digital resources I created. Receiving approximately 4500 hits per month. http://resourcelinkbce.wordpress.com/

Initation and creation of the ResourceLink Social Media Plan and Policy – This was the first social media plan and policy to be written within Brisbane Catholic Education, and is being currently used as a primary source to inform the development of the Social Media Policy for Brisbane Catholic Education.
Inquiring Minds portal – development of a SharePoint portal site that provides teachers with professional learning and associated resources to support the implementation of inquiry learning, resourced by a range of digital tools and websites. This portal links specific digital tools to phases of the inquiry process to assist teachers wishing to embed technology into their teaching.
Other Projects – working with over 100 schools within the Brisbane Archdiocese as well as various network groups such as the Teacher Librarian network group to provide professional development and resources to support the inclusion of contemporary pedagogies and digital resources into the curriculum. Each workshop includes the development of extensive handouts or digital resources for future support.
