Responding to our changing information ecosystem

I tackled this huge topic in a one hour webinar that I presented on behalf of the ALIA Schools group, and can forrsee a number of blog posts on these topics happening in the coming months.
For those who were able to attend the webinar (and for those who couldn’t make it :-)) here are the curated collections I referred to. These resources are by no means exhaustive, but if you are new to either of the topics we discussed, they should be plenty to get you started, and if you are already across these topics, they might be useful springboards to further reading.

There are two lists – Understanding Algorithmic Cultures and Moving Beyond Crap. Scroll down to see each, or click on my name to go to Wakelet and view them there.

You can also access the reference list I drew upon when I prepared this webinar if you would like further reading.

I’d love to hear your thoughts about this topic – comment here on the blog, or via Twitter, where I am @KayOddone :).

  1. Hi Kay

Many thanks for this webinar. Easily the best thing I’ve seen all year.

You discussed TikTok in some detail and I wondered whether you could point me in the direction of any sources relating to this?
    Best
    David
