Framework, resource and curriculum design
Sometimes what is needed isn’t a workshop or a coaching program — it’s a review and refresh of the underlying architecture. A capability framework. A set of resources people can use independently. A curriculum that builds skills over time.
The approach
I design to fit your context — including within existing accreditation requirements or curriculum standards. Everything I create is practical, evidence-informed, and built to last beyond the current wave of technology.
The research says what good looks like. The design work is figuring out what that means for your context, your people, and what you’re trying to achieve.
What I design
Capability and competence frameworks
There is no shortage of frameworks for information literacy, AI literacy, and digital capability; the challenge is finding one your organisation can actually use. I develop frameworks grounded in the research literature and in deep experience across education contexts, built around your specific situation and current maturity. The result is a tool people can act on, not a document that sits on a shelf.
Learning pathways and curriculum
Designing learning that builds skill over time is different from designing a single workshop or resource. I develop learning pathways and curriculum across a range of contexts and levels; from professional development sequences and short courses to formal coursework — where the goal is genuine progression rather than one-off exposure.
Guides, toolkits and resources
Good resources don’t just explain something, they change what people do. I develop written materials, structured guides, and practical tools that teams and individuals can use independently, long after an engagement ends. Where an organisation has designers or producers on staff, I can collaborate, contributing the design thinking and research grounding that shapes what gets made.
Policy and guidelines
Developing sound policy requires knowing what the research says, what professional standards exist, and where the real gaps in current practice are. I work with organisations to scope and develop policy across areas including AI use, academic integrity, information management, digital practice, and library services, advising on content and structure, and supporting the drafting process through to a finished document. The writing belongs to your organisation. The thinking we do together ensures it’s grounded in evidence and built to last.
From classrooms to postgraduate study
I have designed course outlines and subjects within a Graduate Certificate of Education, a Master of Education, and a Master of Business Administration. I have also developed professional learning programs for teachers and school leaders across primary and secondary settings, conference curricula, and open educational resources. That span of experience means I understand how learning needs to be structured differently depending on who is in the room and what they are there to do.
Every design project starts with understanding your context. What exists already, what’s working, and what the learning actually needs to achieve. From there I work alongside you, bringing research grounding and design expertise to the process while the decisions stay with your organisation.
